How to Pause or Delete Your Hinge Account
Step-by-step guide to pausing or permanently deleting your Hinge profile, including how to download your data.
01 — Data export
Download your data first.
Before anything else, grab a copy of your data.
- Go to Settings in the Hinge app
- Tap "Download My Data"
- Enter your email address
- You'll receive an email with a link to download your data within a few days
02 — Take a break
Pause or hide your profile.
Want time off without losing your matches? Here's how.
- Open the Hinge app and tap your profile icon (bottom-right)
- Tap the Settings gear icon (top-right)
- Scroll down and tap "Pause My Account"
- Select a reason (optional) and confirm
- Your profile becomes hidden but your matches and conversations are saved
03 — Delete for good
Permanently delete your account.
Ready to go? This cannot be undone.
- Open the Hinge app and go to Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
- Select a reason (optional)
- Tap "Delete My Account" to confirm
- Your profile, matches, and messages will be permanently deleted
- Pausing keeps your data — you can come back anytime
- Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone
- If you have a Hinge+ or HingeX subscription, deleting your account does NOT cancel it — cancel through your app store first
- After deletion, you can create a new account with the same phone number, but your old data is gone
